Welcome to CSCS24 Doctoral Symposium

The purpose of this Doctoral Symposium is to provide Ph.D. students, and their advisors, a setting where they can, in-person, informally, expose and discuss their work, collect valuable opinions, and share new ideas, methods, and applications, bringing together the scientific community and giving them the opportunity to learn new insights, ranging from research topics to diversity challenges in technology and innovation.

The Doctoral Symposium is an excellent opportunity for Ph.D. students to present and discuss their work in a workshop format. The Doctoral Symposium is open to Ph.D. students whose research area includes the themes proposed for this conference: control systems and computer science. Submissions can be:

  • short abstract (1-2 pages) that will be presented as a poster in the conference exhibition;
  • short papers (up to 4 pages) presenting/announcing new ideas with in-progress validation (oral presentation);
  • regular papers (up to 8 pages) presenting validated results (oral presentation).

    The short papers and short abstract should include in a clear and succinct manner the problem approached and its significance or relevance, the research objectives, and related investigation topics, a brief display of what is already known, a proposed solution methodology for the problem, and the expected results.

    All selected contributions (short and regular papers) will be published with the Conference Proceedings. The authors should follow the information available in the Call for Papers section.

    Registration fee for short papers and regular papers

    Doctoral Symposium fee (a Ph.D. student must be the first author): 100 Euro
    Doctoral Symposium fee (for a Ph.D. student as a single author): free (for one paper).

    For all accepted short abstracts (1-2 pages) with a poster presentation (but with no publication in the conference proceedings), there is no registration fee.
